CAERNARFON'S KFC store is closing for good - due to 'commercial reasons'.
The news, announced by officials on Sunday, comes just weeks after the Pool Street branch became the target of anti-social behaviour.
In December, North Wales Police were called to the restaurant after 'out of control' youths were reported to be causing trouble there.
The incident saw a 48-hour 'dispersal order' imposed on the town centre that weekend. Officers later made five arrests.
Confirming the store's closure, a KFC Spokesperson said: “Sadly our time at Caernarfon has come to an end for commercial reasons.
"All our team members have been offered new roles in the surrounding area and local fans can find their nearest KFC restaurant here at kfc.co.uk/find-us.”
Commenting on the closure, Hywel Williams MP for Arfon, said: "Saddened to learn that there will be an empty retail unit on Pool Street. The priority now must be to find a new use for the store, with a business committed to Caernarfon.
"The gradual closure of many multiple stores across the UK compared with the success of small, local businesses such as those on Stryd y Plas and in other parts of Caernarfon suggests that growing the local economy is the best course for the future."
