A company focussed on boosting sport among communities in and around Amlwch will be officially launched at an event this week.
at in an event at Amlwch Town Football Club’s Lon Bach on Thursday, October 10th.
Amlwch Town’s senior and junior football clubs have come together to form Chwaraeon Cymunedol Amlwch (Amlwch Community Sport) as a Community Interest Company (CIC), tasked with spearheading the development of a host of sporting opportunities for the town and other communities within a 10-mile radius.
In a special launch event at Lon Bach, home of Amlwch Town Football Club, on Thursday October 10, at 6.30pm members of the public are invited to learn more about the CIC’s plans, which include looking at the development of a 3G pitch in Amlwch, the establishment of a parkrun venture in the area, the possible creation of other recreational facilities such as a water sports centre, a skate park, a bowling green and many other ideas.
The meeting is a chance to learn more about the CIC’s proposals, but also for the communities to share their ideas on what they’d like to see pursued in their area in terms of sporting activities and facilities, and everyone is welcome to attend.
Members of the public are also invited to invest £1 a year to become a member and contribute towards the work of the CIC plus have a say on the work the group carries out.
Lynn McCann, Chair of Chwaraeon Cymunedol Amlwch, said: “We are very excited to officially launch our Community Interest Company at Lon Bach and to present our ideas and our vision for Amlwch and the wider area to the community, but we’re also really keen to hear from people within those communities.
“A lot of hard work has gone in behind the scenes to get to this point, and we do have a lot of exciting plans for the area which we look forward to discussing further on the night, but we also know that those in attendance will have their own ideas too and we’re really keen to see as many members of the community in attendance as possible so that we can work together and in their best interests to ensure we are working towards delivering the best opportunities and facilities for the local people.
“This is just the start of our journey, and we’re really looking forward to the work that lays ahead of us in terms of developing the best possible opportunities for the community and hearing more about what they’d like to see developed in our area”
