PLAYERS from Caernarfon Town, Bangor City and Holyhead Hotspur have all joined in "impeccably" observed tributes to Cardiff City's Emiliano Sala.
Mr Sala, 28, was killed in a plane crash last month shortly after becoming Cardiff City's record signing, having joined from French club Nantes in a £15 million deal.
The Argentine's body was discovered during an underwater search this week, but pilot David Ibbotson has yet to be found.
On Friday night Caernarfon made the trip to Connah's Quay Nomads in the JD Welsh Premier League, with the Flintshire side later issuing a poignant image of players from both sides observing a period of silence in tribute to Mr Sala and Mr Ibbotson.
The Nomads tweeted: "Ahead of kickoff last night, both sides and all supporters in attendance paid respect to Emiliano Sala and David Ibbotson with a minute's silence which was respected impeccably."
A similar tribute was observed before kick-off ahead of Holyhead Hotspur meeting Bangor City in the Huws Gray League Cup semi-final, with players paying tribute to Mr Sala and Mr Ibbotson as well as former Holyhead Town player Gareth Hughes.
Hotspur tweeted that the silence was impeccably observed and thanked both sets of fans.
