A NEW network of bike trails will be developed at Llechwedd, Blaenau Ffestiniog thanks to a Welsh Government initiative.
The new network consists of three trails which will be added to the existing network, and at the same time one of the older trails will be restructured with the objective of making the network appeal to a wider market.
There will be a new 1.4 kilometre blue grade trail for families and beginners; a one kilometre red trail suitable for intermediates and a new black section 0.7 kilometres to link to the existing trail network.
The initiative is part of a £2.2 million project to improve tourist facilities throughout Wales.
Deputy Minister for Culture, Sport and Tourism, Lord Dafydd Elis-Thomas said: “This scheme is an excellent way for us to assist the tourism sector to make the improvements to local facilities and amenities.”
