Fay Ray return to the stage of Neuadd Ogwen in Bethesda next month to celebrate the release of their 1982 album Contact You on CD for the first time.
Produced by Nigel Gray - producer of The Police and Siouxsie and the Banshees - and released originally on Warner Brothers, the album has gone on to become an 80s cult classic with the band’s videos receiving over 100,000 hits on youtube.
Five piece Fay Ray formed in Bangor in early 1980 and disbanded in 1982 and until now Contact You has never been legitimately available on CD or download but demands from fans worldwide persuaded the band that it was time to rectify the situation and so they have put together a CD containing a remastered version of the original album plus five bonus tracks with new sleeve-notes, photos and lyrics.
The Neuadd Ogwen gig will see the band perform the album in its entirety for the first time and the CDs will be available at a specially discounted price for those attending.
Support for the event on November 3 is provided by psych-blues-jazzrock trio Kurtz and DJ Fflyffilyfbybl will be unearthing some gems from his musical goldmine.
Doors open 7.30pm and tickets are now on sale from www.neuaddogwen.com
