PREMIER LEAGUE footballer Wayne Rooney took to social media to heap praise onto an Anglesey-based hotel following his "relaxing break" there over the weekend.
The 32-year-old striker took to Twitter to thank Trearddur Bay Hotel for their hospitality during his stay on the island.
He also hinted at a return to the popular location in the future.
"Had a relaxing break thanks to Trearddur Bay Hotel. I'll be back again soon." Rooney's tweet posted on Sunday, April 22 read.
The ex-England international, who returned to boyhood club Everton in July of last year, also posted a picture of Trearddur Bay beach on his Instagram account.
Trearddur Bay Hotel itself includes 47 bedrooms and provides unique views out to sea from its many balconies.
Following Rooney's visit, a spokesperson for the establishment said: "It's nice to know that such a popular figure enjoyed his stay here at our hotel."
Rooney started his top-flight career as a teenager with Everton in the early 2000's before moving to Manchester United in 2004.
He made his mark as footballing legend at Old Trafford, going onto become United's record goalscorer (253 goals in total) and won countless trophies, including five Premier League titles with the club.
Since returning to Goodison Park last summer, he has hit 10 goals in 30 Premier League appearances during the 2017/18 campaign.
Rooney also holds the record for most England caps earned by any player having made 119 appearances for his country.
