A LORRY fire closed a section of the A55 on Anglesey early this morning.
The incident caused the closure of the westbound carriageway between Llangefni and Valley, with motorists being diverted around the scene.
Emergency services were called to the scene at around 2.30am and after the A55 was closed in both directions initially, the eastbound carriageway re-opened at around 5.05am.
A spokesperson for North Wales Fire said: "We were called to a HGV fire on the A55 near Junction 5 at 2.28am.
“Three fire engines attended - two from Holyhead and one from Rhosneigr.
“The fire is now out but one crew remains at the scene.“

Motorists are being urged to avoid the area and use an alternative route as the closure is set to remain in place for "some time".
Nobody is believed to have been injured during the blaze.
North Wales Police's Road Policing Unit posted the above picture of the fire on their Twitter feed this morning.
The lorry has now been recovered from the scene.
