Search launched after clothes discovery on Holyhead beach

A SEARCH operation was launched after the discovery of a pile of men's clothing and a pack of cigarettes on a Holyhead beach.

Holyhead Coastguard were called to the scene near the Newry Beach promenade after a pair of jeans, t-shirt, hooded top and cigarettes were found in a pile at 6.53am on Thursday.

North Wales Police assisted the Coastguard on their search, but found no other evidence of a missing person, and suspended the search.

Police say that they have received no reports for a missing person, and will not investigate further at this moment.
