THE ONE and only Ken Dodd will be tickling the stage at Llandudno’s Venue Cymru on August 22.

Ken Dodd's incredible and hugely successful career as a professional entertainer now spans more than 60 fun-filled years and he will be bringing his famous Happiness Show to North Wales.

Reporter Stephanie Price spoke with Ken about the upcoming show.

“I’m fizzing like a bottle of pop with the cork out.” said Ken, “I’m really looking forward to it, I love coming to Llandudno - it’s the land of laughter.

“This show is a genuine variety show. We will have music from Andante - a band who play all sorts of exotic instruments from all over the world, ones that you blow, ones that you bang, ones that you tickle. We will have magicians performing all kinds of miracles, we will have Dicki Mint my ventriloquist act and much more.

“I’ve got brand new tickling sticks which have been fluffed especially for the occasion. I’m trying to bring happiness - I much prefer these shows to television. Everything you do on TV is controlled by somebody else but with performance it’s just you and the audience.

“I always get asked which is my favourite theatre but really, there’s no point living in the past - my favourite theatre is where ever I am that night.

Ken added: “I have no plans to retire - I will keep trying to tickle people’s chuckle muscle.”

Join Ken for his famous Happiness Show for a truly tattifelarius (fun-filled) evening of laughter, songs, non-stop gags and a selection of songs presented in his uniquely versatile style: everything from ballads to grand opera.
